Message from Secretary General Jin Xin on China's Efforts to Contain and Mitigate Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (Covid-19)

Dear Mr. Natee,
On behalf of the Secretariat of Silk Road Think Tank Association, I wish to send our warm greetings and good wishes to you. We appreciate your letter of sympathy and support and positive evaluation of anti-epidemic measures adopted by China.
In the wake of the outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP, or COVID-19), the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has acted swiftly out of the utmost concern for the life, safety and health of the people and exhibited effective leadership as the Chinese government and the Chinese people waged their fight against the epidemic. Proper arrangements were put in place on all fronts. Effective measures were carried out without delay. The painstaking efforts nationwide are paying off as the spread of the epidemic has been basically contained, a sound momentum is gradually building up in the prevention and control efforts, and the restoration of economic and social order is being accelerated. We have full confidence, capacity and determination to win the final victory over the epidemic.
In the course of fighting the epidemic head-on, China has adopted an open, transparent and responsible attitude towards timely disclosure and sharing of epidemic-related information and active international cooperation against the epidemic, which has been highly commended and widely acclaimed by the WHO and the international community. To date, over 300 political parties and organizations from more than 120 countries have sent over 500 messages of solidarity to General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee, to lend their sympathy and support for China's epidemic control measures. This speaks volumes about the profound friendship world political parties cherish towards the CPC and the Chinese people.
As General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out, there is but one Earth in the entire universe and all mankind shares this common home. China is willing to work together with all countries around the world to build a community with a shared future for mankind. The spread of the ongoing epidemic in many countries bears yet another testimony to the necessity and urgency of building a community with a shared future for mankind. Trans-border issues such as infectious diseases are a common challenge for mankind which calls for collaboration of all countries. The CPC is committed to not only protecting the life, safety and health of the Chinese people, but also to working with a deep sense of responsibility for global public health security. Based on the principles of expanding common ground while reserving differences and enhancing mutual respect and mutual learning, we are ready to work together with countries around the world to enhance exchanges and communication, share experiences and coordinate efforts in the fight against the epidemic so as to safeguard regional and international public health security, and promote common prosperity and development of all countries.
